Our Founder: Meet Laura Bunting.
Hi, I’m Laura Bunting, founder of Wildlife & Yoga. Originally from England, Kenya stole my heart in 2016, and by 2020, I was calling it home.
Wildlife & Yoga was born from a deep love of wild places and a desire to create meaningful experiences in nature. In 2020, as the world stood still, I found myself longing for connection—to people, to travel, and to the steady rhythms of the natural world. That summer, I returned to Kenya for the first time in four years. Teaching yoga online while exploring its vast landscapes, I was reminded of the magic that had first drawn me here. I knew I had to share it.
Each retreat is designed to bring people closer to nature and themselves. Whether waking to the calls of distant wildlife, practising yoga as the sun rises over Laikipia’s plains, or unwinding after a day’s adventure with restorative breathwork, every moment is shaped with care. These experiences aren’t about ticking destinations off a list—they’re about slowing down, being present, and returning home feeling lighter, reconnected, and deeply restored.
Yoga is woven naturally into each day, accessible to all—from those stepping onto the mat for the first time to seasoned practitioners. Sessions are designed to complement the rhythm of the retreat: gentle movement to ease travel weariness, grounding practices to settle into a new environment, and deep stretches to unwind after exhilarating days in the wilderness. You don’t need to be an experienced yogi—just open to the experience.
Wherever you’re coming from, you’re warmly welcomed. These retreats are an invitation to step away from the noise of daily life and sink into something slower, richer, and more nourishing. Days filled with fresh air, incredible wildlife, nourishing food, and yoga tailored to how you feel in the moment.
