Three Years of Proudly Supporting the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust

At Wildlife and Yoga, our mission has always been about more than wellness and adventure—it’s about making a meaningful impact on the world that we get to explore and enjoy.

For the past three years, we have proudly supported the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust by booking and staying at their non-profit eco-lodges, adopting elephants and raising awareness about their conservation efforts.

Each retreat offers exclusive access to a world and people who dedicate their lives to protecting our planet’s wild spaces and the wildlife that inhabit them. An experience that connects our guests with a cause that truly matters.

Inspired by the incredible dedication of the Sheldrick team, many guests have chosen to adopt more elephants and make generous donations to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. We are proud to support a charity that significantly impacts conservation. You can donate here if you would like to contribute to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.

Expanding Our Conservation Efforts: Supporting Enasoit Conservancy

As we continue our journey of Yoga Safaris, we are thrilled to announce our new retreat chapter, bringing wild wellness experiences to Enasoit Conservancy. We choose our retreat locations wisely, ensuring they reflect our dedication to protecting the special places in the world that we get to experience.

Situated in Kenya’s wildlife-rich Laikipia Highlands, Enasoit is a critical wildlife corridor that plays a vital role in the free and safe movement of iconic species such as African Wild Dogs, Reticulated Giraffes, Lions, Cheetahs, Savannah Elephants, Grevy Zebras, and Black Rhinos. This area boasts remarkable biodiversity, with over 550 recorded bird species, including 10 that are globally threatened.

Enasoit’s unique ecosystem is supported by a dedicated team of rangers who work tirelessly to safeguard its habitats and wildlife. All proceeds from Enasoit Camp go directly towards managing, conserving, and preserving the reserve. Conservation is at the core of everything Enasoit does, and by choosing to stay with us at Enasoit, you are directly contributing to this crucial conservation effort.

Sustainability at Enasoit: A Low Environmental Impact Approach

In addition to its vital conservation work, Enasoit Camp is committed to sustainability. The camp operates solely on solar electricity, ensuring its environmental impact remains exceptionally low. This commitment to eco-friendly practices aligns perfectly with our values at Wildlife and Yoga, where we strive to create enriching experiences for our guests and gentle ones on the planet.

Part of a Wider Conservation Story in Laikipia

Enasoit Conservancy is vital to a broader conservation story in the Laikipia Highlands, a region renowned for its biodiversity and the cooperative efforts of various communities and stakeholders. This collective approach to conservation is essential for preserving the area’s unique wildlife and habitats.

One of Enasoit's focus projects is the Indigenous Tree Initiative, which involves establishing “exclusion zones” and planting seedlings to protect precious tree and plant species from damage caused by elephants and the effects of climate change.

Additionally, Enasoit runs an Environmental Scholarship Programme that supports the secondary education and mentorship of children from the local community who have a passion for the environment. These initiatives are critical in ensuring the long-term health of the ecosystem and the continued involvement of local communities in conservation efforts.

Laura's Support for Big Life Foundation

In addition to our support for the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and Enasoit Conservancy, Laura has also contributed to the Big Life Foundation. During a yoga class hosted at Acme in Nashville, Laura helped raise awareness and funds for this incredible organisation. The Big Life Foundation is dedicated to conserving Africa’s wilderness and wildlife, employing rangers to protect ecosystems and communities. You can donate to Big Life here
